The Savage Frontier
Elf prince trapped in a quaggoth's body
Prince Derendil looks like every other quaggoth you have seen while you were in Velkynvelve: Hulking, dangerous, and with razor-sharp claws.
The prince told you that he is not a quaggoth at all, but instead, he is a gold elf. He is Prince Derendil of the kingdom of Nelrindenvane in the High Forest. He was cursed by an evil wizard named Terrestor, who polymorphed him into this form, usurped his crown, and exiled him from his people.
Derendil is prone to go into bouts of rage in stressful situations. When it passes, he is remorseful, and has confided in you that he fears he is losing himself to the savagery of this quaggoth form.

Derendil was instrumental in occupying, and ripping apart, drow warriors during their escape from Velkynvelve. He was apologetic about the bestial side that is taking over his cursed form. He offered to richly reward anyone who helps him get back to the surface, cure him of his curse, and retake his kingdom.
Prince Derendil was lamenting about the food the group was eating by speaking about the cakes and gourmet cuisines he’d eat in his palace. Topsy & Turvy called him out, saying he’s a stupid confused quaggoth. Derendil raged and attacked them, and was stopped by Corinne.
After the incident with Demogorgon, Prince Derendil’s rage is tempered even less by his elven heritage. He rages contantly now, and believes that the solution to every problem now is to “kill them all.” He appears to be getting lost in his quaggoth-ness even more.
In Gracklstugh, Wolfe and Derendil have become close allies, taking the front lines of battle on more than one occassion. Together, pursuing the derro called Droki, they slaughtered countless derro bent on killing them. They left a trail of bodies all of the way to the entrance of the Whorlstone Tunnels.
Fighting cultists in the Whorlstone tunnels, Derendil took the brunt of an onslaught of derro crossbows, saving Wolfe. between that and a wound from an ettin by the name of Grula-Magga he was nearly killed. It was Kaz who saved his life as he lay broken and bleeding on the floor.
Prince Derendil developed a crush on Quillathe, and this disgusted Lia so much that she began insisting that Derendil was not an elf because nothing in his story made sense. Derendil flew into a rage and attacked her, only to be subdued by the party amid an ambush by stirges. When he came to, everyone was agreeing that Derendil was indeed an elf prince, and that his kingdom existed. This made Derendil happy.
When the party reached Southkrypt the drow were upon them. In Derendil’s mind, a madness only ripened by Demogorgon took place. He charged at the drow, insisting that everyone follow, and attacked them while invisible. He was quickly slain by Shoor as a demonstration to his mistress.
